Hi
When ever I try to run a sketch in 0150 I get the following error messages:
[0] "JDWP unable to initialize: Error 111 from JNI GetEnv"
[1] "Error occurred during initialization of VM"
[2] "-Xrun library failed to init: jdwp"
on ppc Mac os x 10.4
Version 0135 works okay, am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help!

No idea on that one, we don't call "JNI GetEnv" from any of the Processing
code, so it's tough to know where to start looking.
Are you on a UK English system? Is there anything odd about your networking
setup? Where do you have Processing installed?
Does release 0148 work?

Yes Im in the uk
Is there anything odd about your networking setup?
cant think of anything-how might that affect?
Where do you have Processing installed?
> Ive always put the processing folder in the applications folder

0148 does not work 0135 works fine- perhaps I have something old installed
somewhere conflicting with new versions?-does java need to be updated?

Yeah, I'm stumped. I'd recommend trying to reinstall Java, or trying it on
a different machine. (And make sure you're up to date on everything if you
weren't already.)
Are you a developer? Have you installed any prerelease versions of Java?

I get the same error messages as veryfriendlydub. Running Mac OS X 10.4.11
(Intel).
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_09-239).
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2-66, mixed mode).
Processing version is 1.0.1.
Also, I am not in the UK and I don't think I've set UK English as my
primary language - it's simply 'English'.
If it is a Java issue on the Mac - what is the minimum Java version required?
Cheers.

Runs with java version "1.5.0_06"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_06-112)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_06-64, mixed mode).
Perhaps the same solution - update Java version will resolve problems in
PPC models.

Marking this as an Apple bug since you say it's fixed with the Java update.

I am running into the same problem. I am a Digital Media teacher in a small high school. Our
Mac lab is running Tiger 10.4 with Java 5. Processing installs and opens with no problem, but
when a sketch is launched, I get the above error.
It looks like I need to install an older version of Processing. Unfortunately, these are no longer
available as DMG files. I would really prefer if I could avoid rebuilding the application in Xcode.
Any help would be appreciated.

The issue that was posted here is fixed by running Software Update on the
machine. It's not a Processing bug.
