when using newer releases of the android tools, AVDs that use older APIs
will need to be removed. currently this causes a build error that reads:

Error: Unknown target 'Google Inc.:Google APIs:5'

because the SDK requirement has been bumped to 6.

this is no longer as large an issue as i thought earlier.
This bug is now being tracked here.
