I don't think we have NaN (or Inf and -Inf) described anywhere in the
reference. We might need to add a FAQ or troubleshooting (or Wiki) entry
and link to that from functions (divide, some of sin/cos/atan2) that can
return NaN values when dividing by zero. (e.g. see confusion in late
comment on bug #1316)
