When I first downloaded, it told me that I need to "at least have java development
kit 1.5.0" So I installed Java the newest one. And evertime I click on the the
Processing application, I get a pop up saying to download java development kit, but
I already have Java.

Either install the full JDK from java.sun.com, not just a JRE that you get
from java.com.

Or better yet, just download the version that includes Java.
