An indistinct name like 'Processing' for the brilliant
language/tool/environment that it is puts a huge stumbling block in the way
of both novice and expert researchers looking for Processing references on
the web. Try searching for "processing" in the Safari Books Online site,
for example: the first book on Processing is #31 in a list of 94 matches.
Granted, Amazon and Google give Processing first rank in searches for
"processing", but lord help the researcher who is looking for something
other than the #1-ranked hit. It's almost as if the Processing mavens don't
want communication about their work to happen outside of the web sites they
control and the books they write.

As Processing matures, why not adopt a new name? A unique and distinctive
name will pierce through the haze and fog that hides the wealth of
information about Processing. Now is the time!

We can't/won't make this change. There's too much time and too many years
invested in it.
