The code for specifying an alternate path for the preferences.txt file is
missing in this file:
http://dev.processing.org/source/index.cgi/trunk/processing/app/src/processing/app/Commander.java?rev=4604&view=markup
If you look for preferencesPath you will see it is set once to the value of
"null". The preferences option is completely ignored by Commander.
